Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
VehicleIntel ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and vehicle check services.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
When you perform a search, we collect the Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM/number plate) inputted to fulfill the service. If you contact support or register for a Trade Account, we collect your email address and business details.
B. Automatically Collected Information
For security and performance, we automatically log your IP address. We use privacy-first, cookie-less analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand website traffic sources without tracking your personal browser history.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data solely for the following logistical purposes:
- Fulfilling Service: Passing the inputted VRM to our trusted API partners (e.g., Vehicle Data Global) to retrieve the requested public and private vehicle ledgers.
- Abuse Prevention: Using IP addresses exclusively for API rate-limiting to prevent automated bot scraping.
- Service Analytics: Measuring generalized marketing performance.
4. Third-Party Data Processors
To provide comprehensive background checks (including police, write-off, and MOT records), the vehicle registration you search must be queried against third-party data providers. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal email or IP data to ad networks.
If purchasing a Premium Check, financial transactions are securely processed via certified downstream payment gateways (e.g., Stripe) and we never store raw credit card numbers on our servers.
5. Data Retention
We cache vehicle reports to improve system performance. Personal communication (such as customer support emails) is retained only as long as necessary to resolve queries or maintain trade relationships.
6. Your Rights
If you are a resident of the UK or EEA, you have GDPR rights to request access, erasure, or correction of personal data we may hold (such as trade account details). Note that public vehicle data tied to a VRM is public record and generally exempt from standard personal erasure regarding historical MOT / Write-off ledgers.
7. Contact Us
